Description

As democratization, availability, and acquisition of data is increasing, privacy is becoming a concern. Regulations such as GDPR have been introduced to address the privacy rights of the users. To help maintain privacy, this model can be used to prevent the identification of vehicles by automatically blurring the license plates. Additionally, the model can also be used to blur human faces. 

Using the model
Follow the guide to use the model. Before using this model, ensure that the supported deep learning libraries are installed. For more details, check Deep Learning Libraries Installer for ArcGIS.

Fine-tuning the model
This model cannot be fine-tuned using ArcGIS tools.

Input
8 bit, 3-band (RGB) street-level image.

Output
Image with blurred license plates.


Applicable geographies
This model is expected to work well in all regions globally. However, results can vary for imagery that are statistically dissimilar to training data.

Model architecture
Open-source Anonymizer model by understand.ai.

Limitations
This model is trained to blur license plates in images recorded with sensors that are typically used in autonomous vehicles. It does not work on low-quality or grayscale images or other extreme camera configurations such as fish-eye.
