Description

National Register of Large Dam (NRLD) is a compilation of the large dams in the country prepared as per information received from the State Government / Authority concerned. The lists of dams have been regrouped as per their location within the territory of a State. Central Water Commission (CWC) compiles and maintains nation-wide register of Large Dams i.e. National Register of Large Dams (NRLD), as per information provided by dam owners.

Latest edition of NRLD was published in June 2019. As per NRLD 2019, the country has 5,334 completed large dams and 411 under- construction large dams. The NRLD consists of important parameters of the dam such as age, height, storage capacity of the reservoirs along with the ownership of the dam for all the large dams.
