Description
The imagery was published as an ArcGIS Server image service to demonstrate how imagery can be published dynamically for use in various GIS and web applications and provide a useful and attractive image basemap for various web maps, as well as forming the source for applications of approximate georeferencing and color correction of smaller scale imagery.
The Rev3 version of the NaturalVue product uses a global 1.0 arcsecond water mask to control a separate color processing of water bodies resulting in a simultaneous presentation of blue water features surrounded by naturally colored land areas. For any locale on the planet, NaturalVue represents an accurate information-rich logistical image basemap available for scales of 1:100,000 and smaller.
