Description

ArcGIS Flight is designed to allow drone operators to plan missions and execute automatic flights for capturing imagery.

The Flight app provides additional functionalities like overlaying project data, for example a construction .pdf file, requesting LAANC authorizations, unlocking DJI No-Fly Zones and more.

The Flight app offers different flight modes that are suited for different use cases:
For large area mapping, use the following modes:
  • Area Survey—Ideal for mapping large areas in little time.
  • Crosshatch Survey—Ideal for sites with vertical features such as buildings, stockpiles, and so on.
  • Corridor Scan—Ideal for capturing long and narrow areas of interest such as roads, pipelines, and airport runways.
For structure scanning, use the following modes:
  • Perimeter Scan—Ideal for creating high-resolution 3D models of tall individual structures.
  • Vertical Scan—Ideal for mapping vertical structures such as buildings, dams, or mining excavations.
For inspections and site visualization, use the following modes:
  • Panorama—Allows taking a 360-degree or panorama photo of the job site.
  • Inspection—Ideal for manually inspecting structures and job sites.
