Description

This map compares population density and growth from 2000 to 2010 by US Counties. It also shows total population in 2010.

This map was inspired by a population map within the Mapping Census 2000 Book. Using the new Relationship mapping style in ArcGIS Online, this map shows similar patterns, but also shows where the total population lives. The data is also vintage 2000-2010 instead of 1990 to 2000. 

The map shows areas that are rural (less than 7 people per square mile) or urban (1000 people or more per square mile). 
It also shows where there was growth or decline in the population (greater or less than .5% change).
The size of the symbols represents the total population within a county.
